Straight after you publish a blog, head over to Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn and write a post about it. When you share it on each of your social platforms, you gather a few clicks for every share. But what if you share it multiple times, will you get even more clicks?
Some people don’t care if you share the same blog more than once. Many won’t even notice. When it comes to marketing, it’s easy to forget that everyone doesn’t pay attention to everything you do. Sharing something to social media more than once is an important part of giving your audience value; if you don’t share something multiple times, your audience might never see your updates. Just make sure that you aren’t spamming your audience. We suggest a re-sharing schedule like this:
- Upon publishing the blog
- The next day
- The next week
- Next month
- After three months
Keep the content in each social post fresh and don’t send them right after another – that’s when it becomes spam. Using a schedule is a good approach that will help you boost your reader count.
But how would you structure each post? There are a few different message types you can use for each post:
- Simply post the title and link
- Ask an engaging question
- Share a fact included in your blog
- Pull a direct quote from the blog
- Write a teaser message
It’s also important that you tailor each post according to the social network. For example, Google+ can be bad at pulling image attachments, so you might want to go with a simple text and link post. For Twitter, adding an image will make your tweet more prominent. On LinkedIn, writing longer text in posts tend to encourage more users to click on your blog.
When you share blogs on social media more than once, you up the chances of increasing traffic and might even drive more engagement. Of course, you should never spam your audience. Remember, there is a right way and a wrong way to share content! Think wisely before you hit post.
