Run Theory is an innovative and inventive Australian start-up focused on building intelligent training solutions that help athletes everywhere to run faster. They do this through the ‘science of speed’, a process and obsession that combines cutting edge running science, world class coaching and machine learning. They provide training support via a native app that users can download and use for free to achieve their running goals.
Objective
Run Theory had a fully-optimised and functional website for their application, however, they found that having a Wix website resulted in high ongoing costs and they had limited customisation allowance without paying extra costs. The client came to us to convert their website exactly as it is to WordPress.
DigiGround Work Process
Wix doesn’t make it easy for users to switch their platform to WordPress – but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible. In order to convert the client’s Wix site into a WordPress site, DigiGround had to purchase the hosting for the website. Our web developers then set up a temporary domain to use as their website while we got things prepped. Once this migration from Wix to WordPress was complete, we then switched the client’s Wix domain to point to the new website.
In some cases, we might migrate your website manually. Our web developers will simply copy the content from the Wix site and add it into the WordPress website. This is an option we recommend for any clients who have a small website (fewer than 20 pages and posts).
With the new website all set up in WordPress, all we had left to do was hand over the ownership to Run Theory. Now, they had a fully-functioning WordPress website that they could edit and update whenever they needed – and with no extra costs required!
