Objective
The client noticed a common trend amongst girlfriends and female friends complaining about having to buy new clothes all the time for every event, and then not wearing the clothes again. All this, coupled with the personal experience of having two female friends who live together and share a wardrobe, gave the client the idea to create the Walk In Robe App.
Walk In Robe App would be a unique fashion sharing application that allows people to advertise their clothes and accessories in an online marketplace for others to rent. The client approached the DigiGround app development team to scope and build a mobile application to achieve this goal.
DigiGround Work Process
Walk In Robe App was developed entirely in-house by DigiGround’s Sydney software developers. After a few weeks of technical validation, market research, and some fine-tuning of the concept, the development work commenced.
Our app designers kicked off the project by putting together a prototype of the app using Adobe XD. This is a working prototype that gave the client and our developers an understanding of the app’s look and feel. While the app was being designed, our designers worked with the client to create a logo and branding guidelines that captured the essence of the app.
Our in-house app developers were responsible for building the frontend and backend of the mobile app. The designers provided the UX and UI and worked with the client to make design decisions where necessary. The application was built in React, which allowed us to quickly develop a product that would work effectively across most platforms.
We quickly put up a one-page website so that our development team could publish the app to the Apple Store and Play Store. The site reflects the app’s sleek and exclusive look, with prominent CTA buttons featured throughout to encourage visitors to download the application. Our digital marketer optimised the site for keyword ranking and blogs were written to give the sight dynamic content, which would support our SEO work as well as keep visitors engaged with the site.
The app was promoted with social media marketing prior to its official launch. This was done on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn to generate hype and awareness. Posting on a daily basis, our digital marketer and the client worked together to engage with the growing community of interested users. Once the app was finally launched, we promoted the event across all social and sent out press releases to garner interest.
Since launch, Walk In Robe App has been downloaded thousands of times. The website is quickly gaining ranks on the major search engine results pages. We are very proud of the product we have produced and will continue supporting the client to grow the platform.
